‘Ah ah ah ah staying alive staying alive’ sang the Beegees in 1977, when I was a young married woman of 22 yrs, and struggling to do just that.

What they meant was surviving in the hard world.

What I was living was the internal struggles to stay alive literally.

My worth was through the floor and my marriage had done nothing at all to make that feel any different. My husband at the time…
